Counterfeiters arrested following call in August

OTTAWA — Two Chicago area men were arrested on Monday following an investigation into counterfeit and fraudulent credit card use last month. Ottawa Police say officers responded to the Wal-Mart on August 11th, where they detained three people and a vehicle believed to be involved. Police say they located as many as 35 credit cards, a portable credit card reader, and numerous receipts from purchases. Following the investigation, arrests warrants were issued on Monday for 30-year old Mark Jackson of Alsip, who was charged with four counts of counterfeit debit card, and 21-year old Tremayne Broy of Chicago, charged with six counts of counterfeiting debit card. Jackson has a $30,000 bond, Broy a $20,000 bond.
