LASALLE – A 28 year-old man has died after an altercation in LaSalle early Friday. According to the LaSalle Police Department, authorities were called to the 500 block of First Street around 1:30 in the morning for a man who was unconscious on the floor. EMS was called and the man was taken to an area hospital and later transferred to a Rockford hospital. The man, identified by the Winnebago County Coroner as Nick Puyear of Peru, passed away later on Friday. The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit and the LaSalle Police Department are continuing their investigation. No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed at this time.
