April Showers Brings Programs to the Peru Library

#MeToo, a look at Sexual Violence, Tuesday April 17th from 6-7pm with Cortnie Riordan a Counselor with ADV & SAS. 
 
Rules of the Road returns on April 19th from 9:30-11:30am. Presented by Secretary of States representatives, this class covers information needed to pass the written exam for obtaining or renewing an Illinois driver’s license.
 
The April adult program is Al Capone and the 1933 World’s Fair on Thursday, April 19th from 6-7:30pm. Author William Hazelgrove brings us the story of Chicago’s fight against organized crime in order to host the 1933 World’s Fair. 
 
The library’s regular Color Me Calm group meets on April 10th and 24th, the second and fourth Tuesdays, from 10am-12pm. Bring your own coloring supplies or use the library’s for a soothing morning of coloring and socializing.
 
Peruvian Purlers is an informal weekly gathering of knitters, crocheters and others at the Peru Library. Doesn’t matter if you are beginner or master, you are welcome. Peruvian Purlers meets each Saturday morning from 10am-12pm.  
 
Love to play games? The quarterly Game On 17 & Up is Friday the 27th from 7-10pm The library has gaming consoles with a variety of video games, gaming screens, and classic board and card games. Or bring your own games to play with the group.
 
Meeting the last Monday of the month, the Adult Book Club meets April 30th from 6:30-7:15pm. April’s book is Seven Brief Lessons On Physics by Carlo Rovelli. Haven’t read the book? Call the library to request a copy of the book. May’s book is A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman.
 
In celebration of National Library Week, the Peru Public Library has month-long Fine Amnesty for Peru library patrons. Peru library patrons can ask to have their fines waived during the month of April.
