Springfield, IL – Representatives from LaSalle County Health Department’s Medical Reserve Corps were in Springfield Wednesday to accept the “Governor’s Hometown Award.” LaSalle County was chosen to receive the award for work addressing the opiod crisis through the county’s nalaxone program The LaSalle Count Naloxone Program trains police to administer nasal naloxone for use in an opiod overdose. Since 2016, the program documented 35 uses and 34 lives saved.
