MENDOTA – A Mendota man was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after allegedly abandoning his car on railroad tracks. According to the LaSalle County Sheriff’s office, a little after 6 AM on Sunday deputies were called to the scene southwest of Mendota where a train had struck an unoccupied car.
After an investigation by BNSF and the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, 25 year-old Kyle Balog was arrested. No injuries were reported on the train.
