Arrest in Connection to the Death of Spring Valley Teen

Authorities say they arrested a Putnam County man in connection with the death of a Spring Valley Teen.  At a press conference today, Putnam County Sheriff’s Officials say 26 year old Richard A. Henderson, of Standard, was arrested and charged with Concealment of a Homicidal Death.  Authorities say that based on information they have at this point, Henderson picked up 16 year old Diamond Bradley, of Spring Valley, near her residence, drove her into Putnam County to 850N Road.  Officials say a physical altercation occurred, resulting in Henderson killing Diamond.  Police say the investigation is continuing, and that more charges at a later date are expected.  Henderson is in the LaSalle County Jail and will be arraigned in Putnam County.
Spring Valley Police started investigating the disappearance of Bradley back on January 24th.  Bradley’s body was discovered 3 days later in a ditch in Putnam County, and officials said last week that she died of multiple stab wounds.
Authorities say through the use of surveillance cameras and Diamond’s cell phone pings they were able to link the crime to Henderson.  Authorities also said that the two met on the internet and agreed to meet the morning she was reported missing.
Officials say that while the investigation is still ongoing, they are confident they “have the person who committed this act in custody.”
