LASALLE – Quick action by firefighters kept a fire early Sunday morning from consuming an entire block of Downtown LaSalle. Firemen arrived at the 900 block of First Street around 7:30 to find a three-story building engulfed in flames.
Firefighters from 10 area departments attacked the blaze from the front and back of the unoccupied building. The fire was extinguished by 9:30 with only smoke damage reported to adjoining buildings. The cause of the blaze was not immediately known. No injuries werereported.
