STREATOR – The one month anniversary of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida is being remembered by area schools with students participating in a walkout Wednesday morning at 10 AM. A movement called the National School Walkout will have classes across the nation going outside for 17 minutes. Streator High School plans to have security accommodate anyone who chooses to walk out to a specific location on campus, but they are expected to return after the allotted time or face disciplinary action. At Hall High School in Spring Valley students who participate will be gathering at the football field to spell out “Never Again”. Other area schools have events planned, including in class moments of silence and assemblies.
