MENDOTA – Traffic heading east out of Mendota will experience delays through mid summer as a bridge is being replaced on Route 34. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Route 34 Bridge over the Little Vermillion River is set for replacement and will close the highway to one lane. Temporary stoplights have already been installed. Due to the construction, County Highway 38, which intersects adjacent to the bridge, will be closed for the duration of the project.
