UTICA – Slick roads Monday morning caused two crashes near Utica on I-80. Illinois State Police say a tractor trailer truck driven by a 63-year-old Oak Forest, Illinois man, was traveling West near the Utica exit when he allegedly lost control and struck a passenger vehicle. Police say the passenger vehicle pulled to the shoulder, but then left the scene. No injuries were reported in that crash. Then, about a half hour later, around 7:15 Monday morning, a SUV driven by a 49-year-old Kewanee man was traveling east about a half mile away from the previous accident, when he reportedly lost control of his SUV due to slick road conditions, entered the median, and struck a guardrail. That driver refused treatment from EMS on the scene.
