Leland Man Arrested For Heroin, Cocaine

LELAND – A Leland man was arrested after being stopped for allegedly speeding late Thursday night. According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Jeffery M. Heth was stopped for speeding in southern DeKalb County when the deputy initiated a search of the vehicle after spotting what was reportedly a bag of drugs on the seat of his vehicle. A K9 Officer was called to the scene and among the items discovered was purported Heroin, Cocaine, Clonazepam and drug paraphernalia. Heth was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession with intent to Deliver and three counts of Possession. It was also discovered he had an active warrant out of LaSalle County for Delivery of a Controlled Substance. He was transferred to the LaSalle County Jail and is being held on $500,000 bond.
