OGLESBY – Illinois Valley Community College women’s basketball coach Tom Ptak today announced the signing of LaSalle-Peru High School standout point guard Gena Fassino.
Fassino was a four-year varsity player for coach Hollis Vickery’s Cavaliers and started the last three years. As a senior captain, Fassino averaged 8 points and 9 assists.
Ptak said Fassino also plans to pursue a nursing degree at IVCC.
“We are very happy to have Gena join the Eagles,” he said. “I have seen her play several times and feel strongly she will be handling the point guard position for us the next two years. Gena gives nothing less than 100 percent.”
