DEKALB – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office took a teen into custody after he allegedly fled after cutting his monitoring bracelet off. On Sunday evening Deputies were called to the 800 block of Ridge Drive in DeKalb for a 17-year-old Juvenile who was being monitored for a prior arrest for purported armed robbery. When they arrived they observed a vehicle fleeing from the scene and identified the teen subject as a passenger. After a brief search, Deputies located the teen hiding in an apartment in the 900 block of Greenbrier and took him into custody. A search warrant was obtained for the apartment and a loaded 40 caliber handgun and ammunition was reportedly found. The teen was taken to a juvenile detention center in Joliet. The case remains under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
