DALZELL – A smokey house fire Monday morning in Dalzell may have been caused by a downed power line. According to the Dalzell Fire Department a little after 8 a.m. they were called to a home in the 200 block of Luce street where smoke was showing. Peru, Spring Valley and Ladd Departments also responded. The fire was brought under control in less than an hour with damage mainly to the attic area. The cause of the fire was reportedly due to a semi striking the electric wire and pole providing power to the home. No injuries were reported.
