PERU – The City of Peru will hit it out of the ballpark this summer with their grand opening of Splash Field on Monday.
Splash Field’s name was acquired from the donation of Toronto Blue Jay’s pitcher J.A Happ, a Peru local.
The idea for the Splash Field came about when Peru’s public pool was decompositing, and eventually demolished. “Between the efforts of the Peru City Council, a community fundraising committee and outside funding, the waterpark became a priority,” said City Clerk Dave Bartley.
Admission to the splash pad will be free, and it will be open to the public.
Hours of operation will be noon-8 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
The opening ceremony will be at 5 p.m at Washington Park.
