MORRIS – A heron with an apparent broken wing was rescued last week with help from the Morris Police Department. Officer Zwolinski was called to Route 47 just south of the Illinois River for a bird not acting right. In a social media post, Morris Police say the bird proceeded to hide under the patrol car until Grundy County Animal Control was able to capture it. The heron was transported to a veterinary hospital.
