Andersen Verdict: Guilty

HENNEPIN- A Standard man has been found guilty of murdering and burying his sister in law. Clifford Andersen was found guilty Friday, in a Putnam County Court of the 2016 murder of Deborah Dewey. It took a jury of 9 men and 3 women under four hours to reach a guilty verdict on charges of murder and concealment of a homicide. Following the verdict, the oldest niece of Deb Dewey spoke on behalf of the family. She expressed how happy the family is to have received justice. She went on to say despite the family being perpetrated as distant, they were very close noting many family members left their jobs to search for Deborah when she was reported missing. The Attorneys for Andersen stated they were disappointed on the verdict, however early on they realized the case could go either way. Judge Stephen A. Kouri set August 23 as Andersen’s sentencing date.
