ROCK FALLS – An investigation by the Blackhawk Area Task Force has led to the arrest of a man on gun and drug charges. On Thursday authorities arrested 38-year-old Joseph H. Greul of Lyndon, Illinois on multiple charges stemming from an investigation into methamphetamine distribution. During a traffic stop in Rock Falls, Greul allegedly had a .357 Smith and Wesson revolver and a Ruger semi-automatic handgun, 54 grams of purported methamphetamine, and over $2600. Also discovered in a search of his vehicle was reportedly a scale, packaging material, and ammunition. He was charged with three Methamphetamine drug felonies and two weapons felonies. Greul was taken to the Whiteside County Jail.
The Blackhawk Area Task Force is a multi jurisdictional force comprised of the Dixon Police Department, Kewanee Police Department, Sterling Police Department, Rock Falls Police Department, Whiteside Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police.
