MENDOTA – Mendota’s Sweet Corn Festival kicks off with a special afternoon for kids. Before the festival officially opens Thursday, the carnival will be privately opened for anyone with Special Needs and family. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jesse Arellano, says the free carnival will provide children with special needs a safe place to enjoy themselves without the commotion and bright lights. The special afternoon begins Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 PM, and will require online registration.
