CHERRY – North Central Illinois Artworks will put up their 3rd installation of public art in Cherry. NCI ART President, Chris Coughlin teamed up with Chicago and Mendota based artist, Ray Paseka to help build a mural in appreciation to the community. According to Coughlin the goal of the mural is to emphasize the historical impact of the St. Paul Mining Company and the development of the Chicago-Milwaukee St. Paul Railroad. The mural will be placed in downtown Cherry and will be installed by next week. NCI ART previously erected the “Mendota Gold”, an ear of corn mural in Mendota, as well as a mural in downtown Streator. These murals are all a part of the Silo Pathways Countryside Public Art Tour that began last year.
