Aurora Man Arrested in DeKalb County on Drug Charges

SANDWICH – A traffic stop in southern DeKalb county led to the discovery of drugs and the arrest of a man after a short foot pursuit. On Friday morning just after Midnight the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office reported that they stopped a vehicle on East Sandwich Road 3 miles north of Sandwich and, after making contact with the driver, reportedly detected a smell of cannabis and began a search of the vehicle. During the search 36-year-old Ahood B. Hill of Aurora allegedly began to flee on foot. He was taken into custody and during the investigation Deputies located a bag containing 37.5 grams of purported cocaine and 65.6 grams of suspected cannabis. During a search of his person it was discovered he had less than a gram of alleged methamphetamine by authorities. Hill was charged with resisting a peace officer and unlawful possession of controlled substance. He was taken to the DeKalb County Jail with bond yet to be set.
