MENDOTA- Ed and Debbie Creager were in the living room when they heard the tremendous crash of most of a tree collapsing onto their home Tuesday night.   Their initial fears grew when they realized the tree had come through the ceiling of the dining room, just feet away from where their 10-year-old daughter Emily was sitting.
“It sounded like a car crash or if a large boulder crashed into the ground” she said.

No injuries were reported, but the home in the 900 block of Carolyn Ave in Mendota was going to need significant repairs.
Across town near the intersection of 4th Street and 6th Ave two large limbs came down on a car parked on the street, crushing it’s roof and sending branches through the seats inside.

The quick moving thunderstorms struck Tuesday evening, with high winds and heavy rains.   The National Weather Service had issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning about thirty minutes before it arrived in Mendota.
