OGLESBY – An old Starved Rock trail has been transformed into an interpretive trail with the help of a local organization. Adopted by the Starved Rock Walkers club, the interpretive trail features nine of eleven signs displaying the history of the State Park and Starved Rock Lodge. Activities Coordinator Edna Doroty, says it all started after the state passed a legislation allowing volunteer groups to adopt trails on State owned land. The trail will soon be ADA-Compliant, making it accessible for handicapped to enjoy the trail. The adopted trail is located outside of the overflow parking lot at the Starved Rock Lodge.
