DIXON – An officer who has served Lee County retired Wednesday, after working diligently on all four feet since 2011. K-9 Officer Pepper will be spending his days now with his handler and now new owners family after seven years on patrol. Lee County Sheriff John Simonton said that Pepper and his handler, Deputy Derek Ranken, “Made a great team, while interdicting drug trafficking, conducting searches and providing educational programs for the kids and community, along with many other tasks.”
Weekdays 12 a.m. to 5 a.m.
