
DIXON – An infant is being treated for multiple broken bones from suspected abuse according to Dixon Police. Authorities say on Tuesday morning, detectives with the Dixon Police Department and the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Rockford hospital where a five month old infant was being treated for suspected abuse. Police say, the abuse occurred in rural Mount Morris and Detectives learned the infant had fractured ribs, arms, legs and wrist bones. It was also reported that the infant also sustained a skull fracture, cranial bleeding and a collapsed lung. Officials say, the following day, officers with the Dixon Police Department located and took into custody, 19-year-old Shane D. Wilson of Mount Morris, for outstanding Ogle County arrest warrants and transported him to the Ogle County Jail. He was arrested for Aggravated Battery to a Child, a class X Felony. Wilson’s bond was set at $500,000 dollars. The infant remains in the hospital in critical, but stable condition.
