SHABBONA, IL – A Rochelle man was arrested after deputies say he fled an accident Saturday afternoon. DeKalb County Sheriff’s officials say a 2005 Honda Accord left Shabbona Road at a high rate of speed and crashed into a ditch. Deputies say that the driver fled the scene on foot through an open field. 29-year-old Kevin L. Staten of Rochelle, was apprehended by deputies, evaluated by Shabbona EMS, and then taken to the DeKalb County Jail. The crash occured around 1:30 Saturday afternoon, and Staten is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, 2 counts of resisting/obstructing a peach officer, and 2 other traffic citations.
