Richard Henderson – moments before entering a guilty plea on 11/6/18 for the murder of a Spring Valley teen.

HENNEPIN – 26-year-old Richard Henderson Pleaded Guilty to Count 4 of First Degree Murder in the stabbing of Spring Valley Teenager, Diamond Bradley in a negotiation deal, at the Putnam County Courthouse on Tuesday. Henderson agreed to serve 100 percent of his 53 year sentence at the Illinois Department of Corrections. Henderson will be granted three years of mandatory supervised release after serving his sentence.
States Attorney Christina Judd-Mennie, said she spoke to the Bradley family just the night before about the plea. Mennie says it was a family decision to accept the plea deal. “The family needed closure,” she added.  “To them, [family] adding time to his sentence wouldn’t bring Diamond back. They’re ready to move on.”
