Autistic woman found in creek

BRISTOL – An autistic woman was pronounced dead after being found in a creek in Kendall County on Wednesday. According to the Kendall County Sheriffs Office, they were called just after 7 p.m. to the 100 block of Basswood Court in Bristol for a report of a missing autistic woman. Authorities say, they deployed a drone and were assisted by a Chicago Police Department helicopter to search for the woman. Police say, just after midnight, 37-year-old Wendy M. Lippard was located in Blackberry Creek near Willow Lane. Medical attention was reportedly given at the scene and Lippard was transported to a hospital in Aurora, where she was later pronounced dead. The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an active investigation into the incident with the assistance of the Kane County Coroner’s Office.
The Yorkville Police Department, Montgomery Police Department, Oswego Police Department, Chicago Police Department, Bristol-Kendall Fire Department, and the Kendall County Emergency Management Search and Rescue Team all assisted in the search.
