MENDOTA – The city of Mendota referred a possible sidewalk snow removal ordinance to the public works committee for review. In a city council meeting on Monday, Alderman Walter Weiland addressed the recent correspondence from citizens regarding an ordinance applying to snow removal in residential and downtown business areas, including sidewalks. According to Weiland other municipalities have similar ordinances, suggesting passing the possible ordinance on to the public works committee. He said they will deliberate with the public safety committee to review suggestions and eventually come back to council with their recommendations.
