LASALLE – The City of LaSalle will start a sewer separation project in April. City Engineer Brian Brown says the city is getting rid of all cross connections between storm and sanitary sewers due to combined sewer overflow. Brown says west of St. Vincent from Lincoln Elementary School north to O’Connor and West to Bucklin will drain into the new storm sewer. The city is making final connections to send clean storm water into the Little Vermilion, instead of treating the water. The project also allows to extend storm sewer pipe and separation in other areas of the vicinity. The project is anticipated to take four months.
