MENDOTA – Police Chief Greg Kellen announced that an arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect involved in a strong arm robbery in Mendota. The search for 51-year-old Earl E. Ratliff of Freeport is underway after an alleged robbery that took place at a gas station near I-39 on April 10th. Authorities say Ratliff allegedly obtained the victims purse by punching and kicking several times. The victim was reportedly dragged 18 feet after persuing Ratliff as he fled in his vehicle. Treatment was given to the victim at the scene. Ratliff remains at large. Chief Kellen says the investigation was made possible by Peru Police, Freeport Police, LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, and the Mendota Police Department.
