New Mayor Takes Over in Ottawa

OTTAWA – Mayor Bob Eschbach passed the gavel along to Mayor elect Dan Aussem at Ottawa’s swearing in Tuesday. Community members packed council chambers to bid farewell to long time Mayor Bob Eschbach and welcome his successor.
Former Comissioner of Public Property, Daniel Aussem was sworn in as new Mayor of Ottawa, having already served the city for 15 years.

Mayor Aussem says he’s would like to see more streets and alleys paved, and currently is pushing for ten blocks more to be added to the annual street program.

Former Mayor Bob Eschbach says serving the city of Ottawa for the past 20 years has been one of the most meaningful and fulfilling times of his life.

Newly elected Comissioner Marla K. Rodriquez was also sworn in along with re-elected Comissioner’s James J. Less, Wayne A. Eichelkraut Jr. and Thomas G. Ganiere.
