SPRING VALLEY – The city of Spring Valley approved a benefit for a Bureau County family whose home had been destroyed in a fire. On May 14th, a family of six in DePue suffered a fire that injured their 4-year-old son. He is currently hospitalized after being airlifted with burn injuries to Chicago. The east section of St. Paul Street between Greenwood and Power Street will be closed off from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday to raise money for the family. The event is hosted by Grandma Rosie’s Sweet Treats and Grill.
