OGLESBY- Starved Rock State Park has reopened 2 lanes in the lower parking lot off of the west entrance to the park as of Wednesday morning. The remainder of the parking lot as well as the boat ramp and picnic area remain closed due to debris and continuing clean up of silt and mud leftover from the floodwaters of the Illinois River. Those visiting the park are asked to not park in the grass or restricted areas of the lower parking lot if the first two open lanes fill. Visitors are also asked to proceed up the park hill to the gravel overflow parking lot located by the south entrance off of route 71 or the Starved Rock Lodge parking lot. Park staff are hoping to have the entire lower lot and boat ramp open by June 22nd if not earlier.
