Friday Night Fire in Ottawa

OTTAWA – Multiple area departments were called to a structure fire in Ottawa Friday night.  Around 9:30 PM crews arrived in the 1600 block of Chestnut Street and activated a MABAS Division 25 alarm to summon other surrounding departments to the scene.  

Supporting crews battling the 2nd alarm blaze that started in one home and spread to another, including Ottawa, Naplate, Grand Ridge, Streator and Wallace Fire Departments.  No reported injuries to residents and responders.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation with the Ottawa Fire Department, Ottawa Police Department, and the Illinois State Fire Marshall.
