Dynamic Controls Inc. sponsors IVCC HVAC scholarship

OGLESBY – Dynamic Controls Inc.  donated $10,000 to the Illinois Valley Community College Foundation to endow a scholarship for students seeking the Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning  certificate.

The first recipient of the scholarship, Guadalupe “Gio” Ortiz of Spring Valley, recently graduated from IVCC’s Adult Education “Bridge to Manufacturing” program. A father of four, Ortiz received $1,000 for tuition, books and educational expenses.

“I came to the U.S. from Durango, Mexico, for a better life in the U.S.,” said Ortiz. “Having an education will help me provide a better future for my family. My goal is to get my HVAC certificate, eventually own my own business and help others in the process.”

IVCC President Jerry Corcoran said the scholarship will open doors to high-demand careers.

“Mr. Ortiz’s appreciation for the award is genuine and heartfelt,” said Corcoran. “He believes it will help him learn a new trade and secure his family’s well-being.”

Dynamic Controls Inc. specializes in building automation and security systems integration. It installed the building automation systems in IVCC’s five original buildings and the Peter Miller Community Technology Center.
