OTTAWA – The man Mendota Police say committed multiple smash and grab burglaries will have a bond hearing on Friday morning in Ottawa. The LaSalle County Jail says that 54-year-old Craig J. Hynes remains in their custody for now. Hynes has been charged with two counts of burglary stemming from his alleged activities Thursday morning.
Police Chief Gregory Kellen said Hynes has been previously detained on multiple occasions for mental health and psychological evaluations stemming from previous aggravated assaults, indecent exposures and other lewd acts.
