BUSHNELL – A man was arrested Monday on drug charges after a traffic stop discovered he had hidden drugs in his rectum. The McDonough County Sheriff’s Office says they stopped 47-year-old Michael A. Levar of Pekin for an alleged traffic offense when they discovered items in the vehicle they say was consistent with drug use. After a search of the driver, they discovered purported drug paraphernalia related to the use of methamphetamines. Levar would then retrieve a container of methamphetamine from his rectum. He was charged with possession and taken to the McDonough County Jail with bond set at $3000.
