LASALLE – Two men have been charged with possession of purported cocaine following an investigation in LaSalle on Tuesday. According to the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team, the LaSalle Police Department and Peru Special Investigations, on Tuesday just after 3 p.m. they conducted a controlled purchase of less than one gram of purported cocaine from 24-year-old Tyler W. Dennis of Wenona and 22-year-old Maceo M. Johnston of Dekalb in the 900 block of Third Street in LaSalle. Following the controlled purchase, police say Dennis and Johnston left the area in a vehicle that was stopped by LaSalle Police. The men were charged with Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance and later transported to the LaSalle County Jail with bond yet to be set.
