PERU – A fire at a home in Peru had no injuries yesterday. After 5 PM Peru, LaSalle, Oglesby, Spring Valley and Standard fire departments were called to a home in the 600 block of 15th Street for a report of a kitchen fire. According to Peru Fire Chief Jeff King, the occupant of the home allegedly left a crock pot unattended and ran an errand while a neighbor was at the home. King stated the fire appears accidental and caused around $10,000 in damage.
