LaSalle County Sheriff shares safe Halloween tips

halloween

OTTAWA – With Halloween coming up the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office shared tips on how to make sure your child visits a safe area when Trick or Treating. According to Sheriff Thomas Templeton there are 225 registered sex offenders in the county, and those with concerns can check their address online for offenders living in their surroundings. Caregivers can also sign up for a free automatic email alert informing of any offender movement in the area. During this time last year, Sheriff Templeton reported 216 registered sex offenders.
“You can register any and all addresses where your children spend time; for example: friends’ grandparents, or even a babysitters’ address” says Sheriff Templeton.
