OTTAWA – Members of the community gathered at Ottawa’s City Council meeting to discuss their opinion on selling cannabis in the city. The council has not yet voted to allow the sale of cannabis within city limits and residents spoke to the council about their concerns on the effect legalizing cannabis will have on teenagers. One individual stated that the drug is much harder than it was in the 1970’s, placing part of the blame on comedians like Cheech and Chong and George Carlin for making cannabis seem less harmful than it is.
