CHICAGO – LaSalle and Putnam counties unemployment rates made a slight decrease in the month of October. According to the Illinois Department of Employment and Security, LaSalle County is 4.2% unemployed, compared to 4.4 in September. Putnam County made the biggest decrease, falling under the lowest rates locally at 3.5%.
Bureau County is at 3.8%, a slight increase compared to last month. Statewide unemployment remains steady at 3.9%.
