SPRINGFIELD – Over 30 rural fire departments in Illinois including Oglesby and Utica were grant recipients for new equipment. The USDA Forest Service Volunteer Fire Assistance federal grant program provided matching funds to aid fire departments. Oglesby Fire Protection District will receive over $8,000 for jackets, pants and helmets. Utica Fire Protection District will receive $10,000 for wireless headsets, radio cables and an intercom base.
