Burglary investigation in Dekalb


SYCAMORE – The Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged burglary where the suspect claimed he worked for Com Ed. According to authorities, on Thursday afternoon, a male, possibly in his 50’s, who claimed to work for ComEd, told an elderly woman he needed to check her lines. Police say the man had the elderly woman go into the bathroom of her house and turn a light on and off when a second subject entered the residence to take cash from her purse. After being told to leave, police say the man got into a black GMC SUV with the word “dealer” across the windshield, leaving southbound on Glidden Road. If anyone has any information or a similar incident please contact the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office.
