Farm Legacy Seminars underway to aid next generation

UNDATED – The National Institute of Food and Agriculture says 70% of U.S. farmland is likely to change hands during the next two decades, but many family operations do not have a next generation skilled-in or willing to continue farming.
LaSalle County, Farm Bureau President David Isermann says its a gradual occurrence, but farmers still have options.

For those, making the switch to green energy, farmers priority should be protecting their rights.

Even though the bulge of baby boomers are moving into the senior demographic, on the bright side, Isermann says most are working longer than past farmers.

The Illinois Farm Bureau will host three Farm Legacy Seminars to assist transitioning farmers on February 25th-27th.
