PERU – Heavy rainfall will develop into this weekend, before a winter storm watch that’s expected to create dangerous conditions. The National Weather Service already put places in north-central Illinois under a flood watch and the Federal Emergency Management Agency is encouraging preparedness for potential flooding. Weatherology Meteorologist Ray Miller says we could expect around an inch of rainfall by Friday however, he’s more concerned with the winter storm watch.
Up to four inches of snowfall is possible, but Miller says the ice underneath will continue to be problematic. If you plan traveling the roads this weekend, icy conditions will peak during the day on Saturday.
