Plan commission gives green light for council to pass greenhouse

Joe Bodznick of John and Joe’s Florist

STREATOR – Streator’s Plan Commission is recommending that council allow a family operated medical marijuana company to grow on the city’s west side. Tuesday night before plan commission, Llerem LLC Co-CEO Paul Magelli discussed the ins and outs of the potential grow house that would operate on family owned property, John and Joe Florist. If the city council chooses to grant the special use permit to the medicinal cultivators, it will be the first step in the process of submitting an application to the state. According to Magelli, if awarded the state license, they could start the search for up to six employees by March. The metal structured facility would be between 10,000 to 15,000 square feet, with negative air pressure leaving no outside odors.
