Plainfield Fire Dept rescue dog that had fallen through ice

PLAINFIELD – A German Shepherd named Maverick is recovering after falling through the ice on a frozen pond in Will County Tuesday.   The Plainfield Fire Department say they were called around 7 AM to rescue the 10-month-old dog near Drauden Road and Catherine Drive in the Fond Du Lac Subdivision.  Firefighter/Paramedic Bill Cascone put on a cold water rescue suit and went into the water to get the dog and a resident who had attempted to get the animal in a kayak.  Maverick is expected to make a full recovery.
