CHICAGO – The Illinois Tollway Authority announced Friday that they have transitioned to all electronic toll collecting using the I-Pass, EZ-Pass and online toll collection system.
“We are closely monitoring reports and advisories provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health and are fully focused on protecting the health and safety of the public,” said Executive Director José Alvarez. “At all points on our system, all customers should be advised to keep moving and not stop at toll plazas.”
All tollways will remain open, and automatic toll plazas at on-ramps and off-ramps will be deactivated. They also intend to extend the grace period for missed tolls through the duration of the outbreak.
Weekdays 12 a.m. to 5 a.m.
